How to Join

BECOMING A YOUNG MARINE

is a title that few kids will earn, but the change will last a lifetime.

Recruit training is the first step in becoming a Young Marine. During your 13 weeks of recruit training, you will learn what it means to be a Young Marine, develop confidence in your abilities and gain the self-discipline to push yourself to achieve more that you thought you could.

Recruits receive training in our core values, individual field skills, close order drill, physical training, first aid, leadership training, and more. You will receive the same leadership training taught to the U.S. Marines, which is taught you by Young Marines under the supervision of U.S. Marines, Young Marine Alumni, and Adult Volunteers.

We don’t teach military tactics or warfare skills. We do promise to instill confidence in yourself and teach you how to lead using the best leadership model there is! We’ll also teach you how to be part of a team - because you can’t lead without learning how to follow first.
