Subj: YOUNG MARINES REQUIRED UNIFORMS AND GEAR
1. Capital City Young Marines has produced a list of required gear items that all Young Marines will need throughout their YM career. This list will inform you of what is needed and where it can be purchased from. It may be updated as lessons are learned.
2. Click on the link to take you to a website with a picture of the item and/or to purchase it. Parents are encouraged to buy products from sources that are listed as cheaper than the below website or are in convenient locations to them.
a. For example, if a flashlight is sold at Walmart, we recommend you purchase there if it is cheaper than online sources. If other items can be found at local surplus stores, then buy it from the surplus store if it is more convenient.
b. Website links have been provided for additional sources for gear.
3. Unit Issued Gear
4. Individually Purchased Gear (at various stages in the program)
5. Recommended Gear but NOT required
6. Recommended Websites For Purchases (not limited to)

7. All items have been chosen based on experience, quality, and/or YM National requirements. Make sure you buy winter clothing or gear that will keep your child warm! We still participate in activities in cold weather!
8. Lastly, if your recruit fails to complete recruit training, all issued gear must be returned to the unit. The unit is not required to, but may offer to, “buy back” your child’s camouflage uniform if it is serviceable and approved by the unit Quartermaster.
